brilliant
yesterday wanted to update, but photobucket was screwed for some god knows reason so i will update today.
nothing much starting from yesterday, been watching 2 american drama 'my name is earl' and 'supernatural'. i'm done watching 'my name is earl', i'm still half way through the first disc for 'supernatural'. so far it's been pretty damn good.
---------------
over the weekends, Aaron gave me something to do.. helping out on the singapore fireworks festival.
i would say i'm quite thankful he introduced me to it. the first day was a real blast.
reached there at around 3.45pm. sat there for nothing until like 6pm. went to have dinner then off to the padang for deployment. well, 5 of us got neglected for a while.. nothing to do.. so we sat there and watch people play football.
this was the second time i saw so many ice mountains. the first time was that time during the standard chartered marathon.
was deployed to the bridge at esplanade. the view was quite.. not something you notice everyday.
so basically i stood there, rather than preventing people from going UP the bridge which was my assigned job, i somehow became the road directory. people starts to ask me how to get to ONE FULLERTON, how to get to raffles place mrt; city hall mrt, how to get to the merlion blah blah blah.. well that's for the first night. so there crowd's not THAT bad, so the other security staff can handle it, so she asked me to go UP the bridge to catch the fireworks.
HUH? I'M PAID TO WATCH THE FIREWORKS?
get this clear, on the 2 day job, i was paid. so upon hearing that, i'm like 'are you kidding me?' she gave me the go ahead hand motion and there i was, sitting on the bridge waiting for the fireworks to come on. i've got a couple of fireworks pictures uploaded but i'm not going to post them.
after the fireworks and watching the 'seems to take a long time to evacuate human traffic', we went back to the floating platform for the NDP. now for the best thing, they catered buffet for the VIPs. but the thing is, i don't understand why they don't eat the buffet. it's like it's never been touched.
although from the picture you can't make out much, but i swear i was eating like a mad man. i was stuffed. here comes the best part. they serve FREE BEERS, WHITE WINE, RED WINE and FRUIT PUNCH. how cool is that? you don't get this kind of deal everyday! not everyday is sunday i tell you!
there, you can see all the free beers and all! beers to the left. fruit punch in the middle, red and white wine on the right.
well, after filling up, headed back home.
the second day was a killer. building up barricades in the rain, and inside the building.
now you see it!
now you don't!
the dark clouds so low and it filled up the sky. actually we don't even know if the second day, the event will go ahead cause it's drizzling all day. but everything went smoothly all the way through the night.. no buffet and free beers though..
that's about it! can't believe i spent 2 hours penning this. occasional replies on MSN delays the process BIG TIME...
